Teen Counseling
A safe space for your teenager to be heard, supported, and guided — by a counselor who gets it.
Your teenager is going through something — maybe they've told you, maybe they haven't. You can see it in their behavior, their mood, their withdrawal. You want to help, but they need someone outside the family to talk to.
At Pastor's Heart, our teen counselors specialize in the unique pressures facing today's adolescents — social media, academic stress, identity questions, peer pressure, and the spiritual challenges of growing up in a complex world. They're trained professionals who also understand faith, and they know how to connect with teens without talking down to them.
Your teen doesn't need to be in crisis for counseling to help. Sometimes they just need a trusted adult who isn't Mom or Dad.
What Your First Session Looks Like
A parent or guardian clicks 'Get Started' and completes a short, confidential assessment — about 10 minutes.
Our team reviews the assessment and matches your teen with a counselor who specializes in adolescent care and shares a compatible faith perspective.
You receive your match within 24 hours and schedule your teen's first 50-minute session.
The first session is about building trust. Your teen's counselor will listen without judgment, get to know them, and start understanding what they're going through.
Your counselor will also connect briefly with you as the parent to ensure alignment on goals — while maintaining your teen's confidentiality.
Common Issues We Address
Anxiety & Depression in Teens
Teen anxiety and depression look different than in adults — irritability, withdrawal, declining grades, or physical complaints. We help your teen name what they're feeling and develop real tools for managing it.
Identity & Self-Worth
Adolescence is when identity is formed — and it's under constant assault from social comparison, cultural messages, and internal doubt. We help teens build a sense of self rooted in who God made them to be.
Peer Pressure & Social Media
The pressure to fit in has never been more intense. We help teens develop the confidence and discernment to navigate relationships and online spaces without losing themselves.
Academic Stress
When school becomes overwhelming — perfectionism, test anxiety, college pressure — we help teens develop healthy perspectives on achievement and manage stress without burning out.
Family Conflict From the Teen's Perspective
Sometimes teens need their own space to process family dynamics. We help them develop communication skills and emotional awareness that improve relationships at home.
Faith Questions & Spiritual Development
Teens are naturally questioning what they believe. We create a judgment-free space for exploring faith, doubt, and what a personal relationship with God looks like for them.
How Faith Is Integrated
For many teens, faith is something they inherited — and they're figuring out whether to make it their own. At Pastor's Heart, we don't force faith on anyone. Instead, we create space for honest exploration, meeting your teen wherever they are spiritually.
Your teen's counselor may incorporate prayer, biblical reflection, or conversations about God's character — but always at the teen's comfort level. The goal is to help your teen see faith as a source of strength, not pressure.
Clinically, our teen counselors use age-appropriate approaches like CBT, DBT skills, and mindfulness — all informed by a pastoral heart that cares about your teen's whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
